Most life coaches today are total bullsh*t.
My story...
I should know I've tried a few, the height of which was one guru who claims to coach some really big shots,
and I paid him a couple of thousand rand for a seminar entitled "The Success Formula" with very individual attention
(We were only three business men attending).
This coach and success guru had apparently collected and read nearly every success book ever written and has a large personal library.
Unfortunately for him, I've also read a lot of the Think and Grow Rich, Dale Carnegie, The Science of Getting Rich, Mind Power (John Kehoe), and what have you not, while still in high school. One would think that such an early exposure to the science of actualising one's dreams would have given me a massive head start.
Of course there was just one tiny little problem:
Since then I've learned the real arts of success, in the real world, from the school of hard knocks.
I've been involved in more than 10 start-ups in the last 10 years. I've watched millions destroyed. I've made millions and lost them.
I've got the scars and the money in actual business turn-over to proof that I am for real.
Not that I am all that bothered about proving my credentials, even at the shockingly young age of 33 for my level of experience.
...Back to my story of the life coach - We watched DVD’s of supposedly naturally gifted people, success stories that seemed to “just happen”, and the motivational DVD: WHAT THE BLEEP, with special emphasises on the Japanese “scientist” who photographs the beautiful crystal shapes that water makes when you expose it to different words like love and hate.
When I emailed him a rough summary of proof that this is all bullshit, he promptly refunded my attendance. I’ve paged through many brochures of other coaches, mostly all littered with the myths of visualisation and self actualisation. If you are sick and tired of lies and BS and ready to work with a serious business success coach, let me know.
